￥As a class project you’ll be working on your own song topline!

 

Each lesson will focus on a new step in the process, so that by the end of the class you have a completed, fully formed topline! I’ll show you how to get started and approach this project from the perspective that’s right for you and your experience, and then take you through the process of crafting your topline, one manageable step at a time.

 

At the end when you have your idea you can then share this with me and your fellow class mates to get feedback and advice on the next steps to take with your idea.

 

If you use a music software program such as Logic, Pro Tools or GarageBand, you can use this to record and share your topline. If you have no idea what those programs are you can absolutely just use the voice notes app that you’ll find on most smart phones, or video yourself or someone else singing your song. You can upload your file as an MP3 or M4A (voice note) audio recording, or as a video. You can also share links to your work via SoundCloud and YouTube.

 

Remember this class is NOT about recording perfect quality song demos, using music technology or great singing voices – our focus is on crafting memorable, meaningful melodies and lyrics, whatever stage you’re at in your musical and songwriting journey.
