This is called \u201ctransposition.\u201d And this is one the most important skills you can have as a guitarist.<\/p>\n

Transposition is just a big, fancy word that means to change keys.<\/p>\n

  <\/p>\n

For example, let\u2019s say you learn this lick in the key of A minor. But the song you want to solo over is in the key of G minor.<\/p>\n

  <\/p>\n

Well, you can\u2019t play an A minor lick over a G minor song, or it\u2019s going to sound like a train-wreck.<\/p>\n

  <\/p>\n

You\u2019ll need to transpose the lick. So you\u2019d move everything down two frets, which is a whole-step.<\/p>\n

  <\/p>\n

That\u2019s called transposition. Just moving from one place to another so the lick matches the key of the song.<\/p>\n

  <\/p>\n

And here\u2019s the amazing part\u2026<\/p>\n

  <\/p>\n

There are twelve different keys.<\/p>\n

  <\/p>\n

Once you learn all 34 licks in the course and you understand how to transpose them\u2026<\/p>\n
