These numbers do not represent any specific unit of measure and are merely sequential arbitrary<br \/>definitions.<\/p>\n<p> &nbsp; <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Positions labeled \u201cEDGE\u201d place the microphone near the rim of the speaker cone, but still in a tonally usable area.<\/li>\n<li>Positions labeled \u201cFRED\u201d place the microphone at the very center of the speaker at a 45 degree angle, ala the<\/li>\n<li>popular \u201cStudio Fredman 45\u201d technique.<\/li>\n<li>Below are explanations of the mic models and pre-made mix types:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> &nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>MICS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201c57\u201d is based on a modern production Shure SM57 dynamic microphone.<\/li>\n<li>\u201c70\u201d is based on a Microtech Gefell UMT70S condenser microphone.<\/li>\n<li>\u201c121\u201d is based on a Royer R121 ribbon microphone.<\/li>\n<li>\u201c160\u201d is based on a Beyerdynamic M160 ribbon microphone.<\/li>\n<li>\u201c414\u201d is based on an AKG C414 B-ULS condenser microphone.<\/li>\n<li>\u201c421\u201d is based on a vintage Telefunken MD421-5 dynamic microphone.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cMID\u201d is based on a mid field placed AEA R92 ribbon microphone.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cREAR\u201d is based on a vintage Neumann KM84 condenser microphone.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cROOM\u201d is based on a vintage Neumann KM84 condenser microphone.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> &nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>MIXES<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201cCHUNK\u201d is based on a more \u201cfat\u201d sounding version of the PROG mix.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cCUT\u201d is based on an on-axis 57 and off-axis 57 mic combination.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cCUT+121\u201d is based on a 121 added to the Quick-Start CUT mix.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cJS\u201d is based on a multi-mic configuration created by Jon Symons.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cMDRN\u201d is based on a 57 + 421 mic combination.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cOH1\u201d is based on a 57 + 121 mic combination.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cOH1F\u201d is based on a more \u201cfat\u201d sounding 57 + 121 mic combination.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cOH2\u201d is based on a 421 + 121 mic combination.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cOH2F\u201d is based on a more \u201cfat\u201d sounding 421 + 121 mic combination.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cPROG\u201d is a proprietary mix that excels in modern progressive music styles.<\/li>\n<li>\u201cSP2\u201d is based on a multi-mic configuration created by Scott Peterson.<\/li>\n<li>The mix files in the \u201cSummary\u201d folder are based on a 57 + 70 + 121 mic combination. This mix fits somewhere in<\/li>\n<li>the middle of the brightness and darkness scale of the OwnHammer pre-made mix types.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> &nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>QUICK START CONTENTS<\/strong><br \/>The Quick Start folder contains the OwnHammer picks for the most universally ideal single mic and mix positions.<br \/>Though your mileage may vary, this is a great starting point to get an idea of the overall sound of the cab, speaker,<br \/>mics, and mixes, and discovering which options you may wish to explore further in the auditioning process.<\/p>\n<p> &nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>MID BOOST FILES<\/strong><br \/>In the Quick Start folder, all contents have a traditional entry picked from the Mics and Mixes sections, as well a<br \/>Quick Start contents exclusive feature: the mid boost alternate voicing. The Mid Boost files end with an \u201cM+\u201d, and<br \/>can be useful in counter balancing bright or scooped amps or amp models, guitars and pickups, bus processing,<br \/>and\/or playback systems \u2013 especially PA\u2019s at high volumes.
