The pack was conceived with the intention to capture the country\u2019s distinct marimbas in their pure form, while also processing them through modular Eurorack gear for electronic experimentalists.<\/p>\n<p> &nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>Nicaraguan marimbas feature extended tubular resonators unlike other marimbas, that produce harmonics similar to the effect of overdrive. Two instruments were added to the sessions (Guitarrilla and a modified version of an Atabal) to accompany and demonstrate the Son Nica rhythm. The sounds in this collection were recorded with a pair of Oktava MK-012-01 microphones through an Apogee Element 24 and processed through Eurorack modules (Morphagene, Prism and uClouds), Cecilia 5 and GRM Tools.
